CERAMIC (FERRITE) MAGNETS

Ceramic (or Ferrite) Magnets are very hard and brittle. With a grey natural finish, Ceramic Magnets are sintered permanent magnets composed of Barium or Strontium Ferrite. They provide less energy than Rare Earth Magnets, have a high resistance to demagnetisation, are more resistant to corrosion and are very low cost. As with Rare Earth Magnets, they need to be used with care, and can break apart with explosive force.

  • Produced by the powder metallurgical method with chemical composition of Ba/Sr O.6 Fe2O3
  • Very hard and brittle – cannot be drilled or machined
  • Good resistance to demagnetisation
  • Excellent resistance to corrosion
  • Good temperature stability - maximum operating temperature 250°C
